Orchestral & Soloist
Adagio de las Tres y Diez - For Bandoneón & String Orchestra
Adagio de las Tres y Diez traces the shadowed path of grief in memory of a beloved soul departed. From the cello’s mournful murmur—a sound his father deeply cherished—the music moves through passages that evoke the raw ache of loss and the fragile adjustments demanded by a world forever transformed. Gradually, waves of nostalgia and quiet melancholy give way to a tender acceptance: a luminous remembrance and celebration of a vibrant life once lived. Conceived in the aftermath of the irrevocable afternoon of March 26, 2020, when time seemed to stop at ten past three, the work became Scofano’s way of weaving memory into enduring song.
